Big Valley Railway Station & Roundhouse

Preserved stations in Big Valley, Alberta.

The Canadian Northern Railway created Big Valley as a divisional point in 1911. Its 1912 standard second-class station — a provincial historic site kept by the Canadian Northern Society — opens when Alberta Prairie excursion trains roll in, and across the yard the stark ruins of the roundhouse form an open-air interpretive park, open year-round.
