St. John's Riverhead Station — completed in 1903, built of Newfoundland granite as the Reid Newfoundland Company's headquarters station — now houses the museum of the Newfoundland Railway and the coastal boat services that overcame the island's isolation. The museum occupies the station's whole ground floor and the passenger platform at the rear.
