At the western end of the old Newfoundland Railway, this museum recalls the railway, fishery and ferry services that tied the island together. Its train cars include a snowplow, a diesel locomotive, two Second World War tank cars, a Newfoundland boxcar, a sleeper car, two baggage cars and a caboose — and its treasures include the Mushrow astrolabes, 1600s navigational instruments found on shipwrecks off Isle aux Morts.
