The honest Quebec list is a short one — a single railway — and it happens to be the largest railway museum in the country. Exporail, in Saint-Constant on Montréal's South Shore, runs its Christmas Train on select December days as part of Railway Christmas, the museum's holiday program: a real train ride wrapped in a full day of historic cars, streetcars and seasonal exhibits.
That is the whole list for Quebec. There are no Santa steam specials here, and no licensed Polar Express — that production runs only in Alberta, and the full Christmas calendar explains the licensing. If your December is in New Brunswick instead, the flagship calendar's Quebec & Atlantic section also covers the festive farm-train rides at Aulac, a short trip from Moncton. For Quebec itself, one excellent museum train is what there is — and it is worth the trip on its own terms.

Canada's largest railway museum, on Montréal's South Shore: a short passenger-train ride (about 15 minutes) runs Sundays and holidays, a heritage streetcar circuits the grounds all season, and more than 140 pieces of rolling stock fill the halls. The train ride currently runs a shortened route because of track damage beyond the museum's control. In December, the Christmas Train runs on select days — reserve seats.
