A train ride that works for families is a specific thing: short
enough to hold a small attention span, interesting enough that the adults aren't
just supervising, and honest about what it is. These are the full-size Canadian
train rides that clear that bar — themed excursions, ride-all-day museums and
market trains — followed by the small trains, which deserve their own word.

Small trains for small engineers
Miniature and park trains are the natural first train ride: short loops, low
fares, and a locomotive a child can take in all at once. They are listed here for

the full-size trains.
